seat belts

Post by No Moa »

So should it normally take 6 weeks to get a seatbelt recall for the 2014? I called and it still is not in.

I haven't checked recently, but it's quite possible. I just received yet another reminder that we haven't done that recall yet, but so far, every time I've called, and I think it's been at least 3 for this particular issue, they've not been available yet.

When we have taken ours in sometimes they get back out in a few days sometimes the part is on back order. I'm sure they don't want to have too many of these in inventory since they don't know how many they actually need so my guess is they under produce the part as needed. I would not worry much though. I think this is another over cautious recall like the ignition key deal. The seat belt is not such an issue on a POV especially if you are not huge and wear a gun belt all the time. There is a new trim piece on the seat that allows the seat belt to get more out of the way when getting in and out of the car. I never rub on mine in either my work car or personal car and I'm 6 foot 3.

Took mine to the dealer for the recall but they had to order 2 parts for it. I waited 3 weeks and heard nothing. Called to see where the parts were and it turned out they had already received them but no one notified me. Getting mine done today.

My car goes in tomorrow for the seatbelt recall. Is it worth it? There doesn’t seem to be anything wrong with them, so I’m considering not having done. I don’t want them to put some ugly tacked on piece. What do you guys that have had it done think?

Had mine done. Some trim piece and they checked some cable in the seat which they said was fine. I see no difference in anything.
