From what I read, you are the one I need to talk to about wiring up the tap shift. I scored the whole g8 center console harness to splice into
Its pretty easy to set up. Only 2 wires to run for it from the shifter connector to bcm connector X1.
X1 Pin 20 on the BCM is empty, run a wire from X1 P20 to P4 on the shifter connector.
I used the sport button wire from the 9C1 setup for this. Move it from bcm connector X2 Pin 20 to X1 Pin 20. In the shifter connector side move that end from Pin 5 to Pin 4.

For the other wire, BCM side X1 P17 has a purple wire in it that runs to the cruise control. Just tap into that line somewhere and run the wire to shifter connector Pin 1.

Thats it. TUTD worked for me and at least 2 other members just by doing that. No special programing needed.
Here is the wiring diagram for it:

Let me know if you need anything else.

Back to the series 1 Console question.. I more wanted to see if my photo resizing theory works here... But... All of the side dash trim and stuff that came with the G8 console is literally a perfect match to the PPV stuff. The only way I can tell them apart from each other is that one is stamped Aug of 08 and the other Feb of 13. I'm thinking with some minor modification of the current center support (where the trunk button and 12v adapter there is some "extra" stuff the g8 doesn't have. But it appears to be all there... But I haven't pulled the facia off yet..) I want to wait for the E brake cables to get here before I put it up in the air and start blowing stuff apart

I resized the pics.. Is it better on your guys end, or do you still need to stand at the neighbors house to see them?

Just for kicks and grins, the G8 side panels match directly

So I called gmpartsdirect today. The bezel and ebrake cable should be here by next week... However, the center support still has no signs of being here any time soon... So it looks like I will be getting the sawzall out and attempting to modify the existing stuff to the series 1 set up once the cable gets here. It looks like cutting about 3/4" to 1" off of the lower section of the bezel and center support (includes cutting where the trunk switch and 12v plug are, off). Then a couple of holes drilled for the snap connectors on the shifter trim stuff. I'll let you guys know how it goes... Wish me luck

I am picking up my center console today. Looks like I will be waiting forever on a center support too. :(

Console is in. See my Member Build thread for more details. I will have some more details on the modifications when I get my new 12v trim. I'm not going to take it apart again JUST to take pictures

Beautiful job! I'm still waiting for the weather to get warm enough to tackle this myself.

Would it be possible to get a measurement of the armrest height above the seat bottom? Just trying to get an idea of where it will sit relative to my elbow. :D

I'd be happy to help Jim, it's snowing right now. Next time I go have a smoke I'll take some measurements
