and the effort is underway to deliver on that--a test part is on one of Scott Walker's cars now....should have a definite decision about actually taking orders in the next 30 days, once the material being tested is proven to be suitable.

UPDATE - 4/24/19 - It's happening - for real!

A prototype part will be produced within the next 2 weeks. Once it has satisfactorily had a test fit, the splitter will be ready for production.

The question, of course, is how many of these might the Caprice PPV community be able to absorb?

There are, without question, less-costly ways to add the appearance of an extension, deflector, spoiler, or splitter--this part is based on the original splitter design that is shown in many photos earlier in this thread. That splitter has spent over 10,000 miles on the road, with no issues, and has proven to be very durable.

The new part being produced through this effort will be made from a different material (vs the original version), as a matter of cost. It is a durable & machinable plastic, 0.375 (3/8") thick, with a textured surface--it is not carbon fiber, nor does it have such an appearance--the original splitter does have a composite fabric outer cover which looks similar to CF, but the supplier says it technically is not CF.

The splitter covers the entire area that the OEM lower deflector covers. The splitter does not take the place of the lower deflector, GM PN 92247388 (photo below), which is a common part to all 7 years of PPV production--it is made to work with the stock deflector, and relies on the fasteners that secure the front bumper cover to the lower deflector to provide adequate support through these mounting points for stability of the splitter.

The splitter is quite solidly mounted, primarily by 4 bolts that are attached to the engine cradle structure. The point here is that this splitter is not intended to take the place of the lower deflector--if that part is missing or damaged, it needs to be replaced, or the individual buyer of the splitter is on their own if making an alternate mounting setup without the lower deflector panel in place.

The splitter is designed to work without external supports, and it will be an individual preference to add them. External supports will not be offered through this production effort.

Front wheel arch deflectors, as shown in the original splitter installation, are optional--the parts are relatively expensive, and will also be offered separately, if not ordered together with the splitter.

There is NO website, and no shopping cart for this effort. The New Caprice Forum and this thread, specifically, will serve as the primary source for information about the PPV splitter. Individual e-mail responses to those ordering will include direct contact information (phone - no text) to reach us.

IF you decide that you would like to purchase the original-style (cloth-wrapped) splitter, which has a significantly higher cost, our involvement will be to put you in contact with that supplier--there is no financial involvement on our part, and a current production lead time or cost is not known or available.

If you have any additional questions, feel free to post here for response, or via my direct e-mail.

Production and shipping will be from the Atlanta GA area. If anyone prefers to pick up their splitter locally, those arrangements can be made when placing your order.
