Overall you don’t need the shift box if you have a wheel with paddle shifters. The box is replicating that circuit. If you have paddle you just have to link them with the correspond wiring plug and pin. There are discussion about it on the forum.

On the 14-17 you do need to modify the menu in HP tuners to enable paddle shifting.

I have seen the discussions just nothing definitive about how to wire it.

I saw you posted in the paddle shifter write up, so they wiring for the 14-17 is there.

From my understanding the caprice doesn’t have the wire from the steering wheel plug to the correct body plug, so that has to be wired and pinned per that specification in the paddle shifter write up.

I’m not expert on this, but I’ve had a discussion with the guy who makes the boxes and this was his feedback

I sent Dustin a message so hopefully I hear back from him. Would love to have this working. If he doesn't offer these anylonger, is there anywhere else I can look? I would assume the SS steering wheel is very similar to the zl1 steering wheel. I have researched that thread. Just haven't gotten that far yet. Thanks in advance.

I went with the 2015 Camaro manual SS wheel (not the flat bottom), $100 EBAY buy shipped. I've got an LFX so paddles are not in my wheelhouse for this car. Nice leather wheel, it had 31K when the SS it was attached to met an unfortunate end. Wheel was fine however. Remove airbag, unplug electrical, pull old wheel (being careful of the clockspring of course!), reverse the process with the new wheel, BAM DONE! 20 minute job. It feels SO much better then a 110K mile Omega plastic wheel with wear. Definitely a recommended mod for all 14-17 PPV's!
