Discussion on body issues/mods, appearance, interior/trim, and detailing (i.e. how to keep your car looking showroom new, or a reasonable facsimile thereof...).

Sorry it would, the car wouldn't start. Dealer said fuel pump or something. The car would start then sputter and die.

I finally got my rear G8 seat from the guy who was parting a G8 in Louisiana. He drove to Houston to deliver an engine, so brought the parts with him. I also picked up many of the parts for a console (still missing some key bits, but I'll patiently wait for another part-out to pop up) and the 'Jesus handles' for the back seat. Hopefully, I'll get time to swap at least the rear seat out this weekend.

Well, after an inventory check, I discovered I lack the trim panel and anchor loop that secures the center section in the upright location. I've asked the seller if he still has these parts, as well as the clips for the JC handles. Waiting on a reply.

So I got time this weekend to install the G8 seats. The 'missing' parts arrived on Friday, so I figured I'd make quick work of it Saturday afternoon. When I pulled the factory back seats out, it turns out I had the anchor loop for the fold-down portion of the seats already installed in the car. Not sure if that's something that already comes on these cars, or if they just installed one when they put the seats back in. I'm thinking it gets installed on the assembly line, as the factory seat back has a little indentation that just fits around this loop.

Anyway, the trim panel was needed, as it makes things just look better. The swap probably took about 30 minutes, including driving the car from the garage to the shop and back. I'm quite happy with the results.

Installed my rear seat, the striker and striker cover are discontinued, I'm making an online document about discontinued parts.

I plan on making online documents and how-to's soon.

That's what my back seats look like now, too. Well, mine have more puppy paw prints than yours, but pretty much the same.

Mine is pretty dirty, got to scrub it. Was the easiest install ever. Doing the G8 console install after I get my truck done.

I received the parts for the 2014>2016 SS from the local dealer - look to be the same as those from G8. FWIW, there are 2 bolts included with the striker. I have not pulled the rear seat back yet to see if the striker is already installed.
