Crazy Paul wrote: I just looked up my records from Feb 2013 and the 2011 Holden Caprice rear diffuser bought from Holden at that time was Part Number 92159840.

So somebody needs to actually view what GM are supplying there in USA under Part Number 92159840.

You might get lucky and not get the smooth Chev PPV version.
OK, visit to dealer has (hopefully) cleared this up:

92159840 is a PN that went active in GMNA parts on 9/1/2012. This is the part with the "vented" appearance in the post above.

At some point in 2013, there was a PNC (Part Number Change) to 92204154, which I'll assume (at some risk of being wrong) is the smooth version used on the majority of 2011 production PPV's.

According to dealer, even though 92159840 is a superseded number, there does appear to still be remaining inventory at the Lansing SPO location. If someone wanted to order one, it needs to be made clear that you want THAT PN, not the replacement PN version.

92159840 - MOLDING
CATEGORY: Bumper/Fascia Emblem
List Price: $102.29
Dealer Cost: $65.05

92204154 - MOLDING (smooth)
CATEGORY: Bumper/Fascia Emblem
List Price: $109.71
Dealer Cost: $69.78

The exterior continues. I have concluded that it never reaches completion. Here are a few pics with Christmas Mods. Thanks to my best buddy Bill Harper!!

you may not agree, but to me, the next step would be to make all of the chrome take on the same muted tone--sort of a "smoky" appearance--to complement the wheel finish, which I recall is "Midnight Silver".

Grille spear, fog lamp bezels, window molding, rub strips, side marker housings and the new "Caprice" rear piece. That would make for a more sinister appearance, IMO.

Just a thought--maybe someone could photoshop that to see what it looks like--NOT "blackout", but a semi-flat silver/gunmetal tone. Is there a "wrap" product that could achieve that?

Try a red bow tie, too--or figure out how to create a "flow tie" in place of the solid emblem!!!

BTW, nice wagon in the background on the second pic..... :D

Well thanks Navy Lifer!!! The wagon in the background is an old parts car I came up with. It had some really nice parts on it that I have used on my wagon. If you know anyone interested in a shell just have them hit me up. Didn't you used to have wagon? LOL!!!!

One word sums up this one (for me, at least)... Perfect.

Very nicely done!

Mike, as Scott says, it's never "done"....a new shot of the rear is needed to see what I'm talking about.

So did you use a different grill or add the bar to your custom sunken blank grill? Honestly I love the way your car looks but would not have changed the grill. Maybe we can park together at Commerce again so I can make your car look better again.
