Front seat wiggle

Post by andrewquant »

I noticed my front seat is starting to be kinda loose. The bolts to the floor are tight. Is the wiggle normal, or is there something in the seat assembly itself that can be tightened down? Its just loose in general.

The adjuster assembly is plastic, the frame is metal. Sometimes the front adjuster clips break. The frame will eventually wear out too. If the slots check out, just have to take it down until you find the culprit.

As others have mentioned, the floor connection on the front will get loose. I usually pop the seat loose and pull it out of the slots. A smack or two on the floor pan right in front of the slot will tighten the seat track back up.

I've found the wiggle is due to the linkage that raises and lowers the seat. There are two hinges on the back with a rivet as the pivot point and there looks like there used to be a bushing in there and has now disintegrated. I may just weld up the linkage if no one has any other suggestions. It does not look replaceable unless you replace the whole lower seat assembly frame.
