Re: Radio - USB connection...

I'm making the USB cables... I still have to test it to make sure everything is good...

As for the 3.5mm aux front inputs, I have a USB/3.5mm receptacle, and am figuring out the detection signal circuit. I'm still working on sourcing the plug for the 3.5mm side... the other ends of the wires have to be added to the radio wiring harness connector...

Will let you guys know when I get it all figured out!

Thanks,
Tom Slick

USB connector kits - I can sell you the connector kit for the USB cable... you will have to assemble it yourself... you can use whatever length usb cable you want, cut one end off, and then put this connector on it.

$20 - shipped... Sound reasonable enough? Paypal accepted!

Thanks,

USB radio parts :)
These were given to me so I'm passing it along. Make sure you buy extra pins. They are very small and a pain to crimp

GT8-2428SCF - x4
GT17H-4S-2C - x1
GT17HS-4S-5CF - x1
GT17HS-4S-HU - x1
Mouser.com

The audio connector for the USB/Aux plug should be this one
Connector - AIT2PB-06-1Ak
and
Terminal - SAIT-A02T-M064 (GM does sell a terminated lead under part number 13575867, but they are about $7.00 ea
http://www.docstoc.com/docs/147016546/AIT-II-connector
Now to just find a source
The GM connector has a few different part numbers
19167753 ~136.00
13577043 - ~73.00

I might have found a supplier for the 3.5mm receptacle connector (AIT2PB-06-1Ak)...

For about $170 you can get 350 connectors and 3500 terminals shipped to your door directly from the manufacturer. Make a few with leads and sell them for way less than OE and still have plenty left over plus make a profit doing it :D

They are available at the salvage yards also.
This is a part on the 2008-2009 G6 and Malibu.
On one year it is the IP dimmer switch connector and the other year it is the Headlight switch connector.

This is also the brake pedal position switch connector on many cars and trucks :)
