X3 & X4 Connectors - Part #'s

Post by Tom Slick »

For those of you that want to add Auxiliary Audio inputs (front & RSE)...

The connector is the same for both, but requires the cover... you should only need the contacts, if you want to add to your existing connectors... but, it is nice to have backups...

Mouser Electronics stocks them...

Covers
1-1355524-3 Black (Keyway tab on right, looking down with wires down)
2-1355524-3 Natural (Keyway tab on left, looking down with wires down)

Connector – 12 pin (X3 & X4)
1394048-1 Black

Contacts –
MQS Contact 928999 or 963715

Contacts for X1 and X2 to follow...

Thanks,
Tom Slick

After further inspection... our Quadlock plugs might be a little different...

The contacts are correct, but I'm sure about the covers or connectors...

Will try to verify...

Thanks,

So would this connector be the best way to connect in some bass speakers and an amp in the trunk.

There is an amplifier enable signal pin... but it is on the "X2" connector which uses larger contactors... Pin #14 (right above the Orange/blue striped wire, Pin #15 ((one of two Battery + voltage wires) the one on the right when looking at the installed connector, and is above the dark green wire, Pin #16 (Low Speed GMLAN Serial Data).

Not sure about preamp outputs... there is a pair of audio outputs designated "DVD" (Pins #3(left) & #9(right) (not sure which pin is the -), but not sure if they they work for any other source...

Matti, provided the pin-out information, but some details aren't completely clear...
