I'm adding a trailer brake controller and round 7 trailer connector. However, I've had no success finding a brake signal. The tail lights combine brake/signal so that's no good. The brake pedal switch appears to be a sensor rather than an single pole switch or contact switch.
If anyone has suggestions for a brake signal on a 2016 please reply.

Re: Brake Switch Signal for Trailer Brake controller
Could tap into the third brake light circuit. Not sure if the added load would set of any bulb out warnings and such. If so maybe have it trip a relay to send 12 volts from a separate 12 volt circuit. Would have to catch it right at the BCM because it goes straight into the headliner and to the rear light inside the headliner.
BCM connector X4 (Black Plug) terminal 11 - VT/WT (Wire color Violet with a white stripe ?)

Really appreciate the suggestion and diagrams. Using other BCM discussions on the forum I am still having difficulty locating it. I'll have to do some more research before continuing.

Locating the wire? or the BCM?
On the 14+ it is in the passenger side outer footwell side panel. Actually easier to access than the 11-13's

Ha! That explains why I couldn't find it near steering column. Thanks.
