Dome Lamps

My 2012 dome lights only come on if I turn them on by hand. If my car has inoperative function SEO7Y6 does that mean they will never come on when you open the door or can they be reprogramed ?

Thanks

Since they do not come on with he keyless entry as described here:

Keyless Entry – When the "unlock" or "lock" button is depressed, no exterior lamps or audible sounds are activated; however, the interior standard equipment dome lamp will illuminate at night unless option 7Y6, inoperative dome and courtesy lamps, is ordered.

I would say that is a programmed function of the BCM. Chris White or a dealer should be able to correct with programming.

In addition it s not on the list of KERR options so I not not think it is a wire you can find and plug in again.

EDIT: Yup, found this:

Thanks for the info. I was able to look at my Vin/build code sticker under the trunk cover and I have the 7Y6 delete feature for no auto on dome light. Guess I have to turn them off and on myself.

Another twist is that if it is daylight outside the dome light won't come on either. I was worried that my dome lights had stopped working, but, in the owners manual it says that little bit of info. Once I gets darker, the dome lights start working again.

Maurice

Hmm, on our '12, when unlocking the car with the key fob, the headlights and backup lights come on, but nothing but the DIC comes on inside.
