Light sensor on dash top for 14-17

Hey,

I'm currently in a 15 that has the top dome of the ambient light sensor missing. The sensor itself under the dash is operating correctly, but without that optical dome it only sees direct light and not much of that since it's below the level of the dashboard. So the radio is almost always dim at all hours of the day.

Anyone know if that optical dome is available as a separate p/n from the whole sensor assembly? Hate to buy the whole thing just for a missing piece of transparent plastic!

WOW! I wanted to apologize for that glitch, looks like my last message was repeated almost 20 times. I took care of the zombie messages, put a new power cell in the zap gun after that one!!

It looks weird and feels weird driving a car with that optical dome gone... I was on a car ferry mission from North Carolina to NE Oklahoma, just made it here after almost 1100 miles of driving.

this is the only way GM offers it , list price is 46.88

maybe you can find someone that has swapped the SS dash and has a extra one laying around , also i pulled all the white goop out of mine , to change the sensitivity of the photcells , i know on the SS forum there was write up and comments on it

yes , the sensor pops into the ring , and the ring twisted into the dash

Now that's weird... in looking at the part number you sent the Holden part (13586244) looks like this one.... https://www.ebay.com.au/itm/185538331720

Do they both function the same and have the same pin-out? I'm finally back in front of a real computer where I could look at things...

You know what's interesting though is that just going by memory I'd swear my car has the transparent dome sensor installed like found on the Impala to 2016. I'll have to go take another look to be sure though, wife has it out today...
