Keyed 12v to the inside mirror area

In 2014, the compass mirror was deleted. I want to put it back. I have such a mirror already.

Does anyone have suggestion about how to run keyed 12v up to the rearview mirror area? My car has the red/white dome readling light option, but that is hot at all times.

Which keyed 12v is best to splice into? And the best routing to run the wire? If your suggestion is to run it from the dash, up the A-pillar and then to the mirror area, then do I have to worry about interfering with nearby airbag deployment? The A-pillar indicates AIRBAG. I don't think the A-pillar has an airbag, I think the airbag is in the roof above the front doors(?).

Thanks...

One easy option would be to tap into the power supply for the dome lights. WHile it may seem like it is battery power it is actually on a circuit from the BCM called "Inadvertent Power Control" Meaning it will shut off after 10 minutes. It is a white wire with a brown stripe and should already be in the headliner going to the factory dome light. (ticket light maybe on a seperate circuit, it was in the 11-13's)

Your compass would stay on for 10 minutes after car shut off and door close but I am sure the draw on that is miniscule.

From the service manual:
Battery Rundown Protection/Inadvertent Power
The BCM inadvertent power supply voltage circuit provides battery voltage to all of the interior courtesy lamps. In the event that any of these lamps were to remain illuminated for a period of more than 10 minutes with the ignition switch in the OFF position, the BCM will deactivate the inadvertent power supply voltage circuit to prevent total battery discharge. If the ignition switch is turned to any position other than OFF, or if a lamp switch is activated during this 10 minute period, the timer resets for another 10 minutes.

In response to your post about the a pillar airbag there is indeed an curtain airbag behind the a pillar trim. I work full time unfitting police cars and wiring is frequently done right by airbags. Just make sure you route the wires behind the air bag which is rolled up and taped with a tin masking tape. There is a white plastic wire track that almost always has an open channel for additional wires to be added. If the is no open channel just route the wires with the rest of them and zip tie to the wire track. I know there are 1 pin plugs (taped to the harness)on both right and left a pillars for spotlight power which is fused in the under hood fuse block as R or L spotlight. They are 12v constant but as Steve A. posted BCM will shut them off after 10 minutes as part of the battery saver feature. hope this helps.

Actually have to correct you on that one. THe spotlight wires are direct from the fuse box so no BCM intervention on those. it's confusing because they are orange wires in color and the BCM lighting circuit is also Orange. But ones turns off and one does not.
