Hey Paul,

What would it cost to have them painted there prior to shipping?

Mirage Glow Gold metallic is hard to find here...

How about bottles of touch up paint for our cars?

Thanks,
Tom Slick

It'd cost too much to paint them here + shipping liquid paint by Air is bound to cause problems.
You don't find cans of pre-mixed paint.....you find a body shop who can mix paint to the Paint Spec
Ask them to give you a bottle of the mixed paint to use for touch-ups.

Getting them to match the paint right is easier said than done...

Wanted to post this info for future reference. I think the connector for the Repeater lamps is AC Delco PT2550 / or GM part 13576533. I ordered one and will confirm in a few days. This comes in the form of a connector and pigtail so you add on your own wire to get it down to the headlamp connector to get the power and ground.

Confirmed the AC Delco PT2550 / or GM part 13576533 is the correct connector for the side repeaters.

The manufacturer (TE) part number is 1-967644-1 but that only gets you the housing, have to order the different components separately I saw from Mouser.

Terminals seem to be: 968221-1 (clean body, whatever that means) or maybe 965906-1 <--this one seems right.

I looked at my headlight housings tonight to see if I could find the wires to splice into for the repeaters. I was surprised to see one connected for all the lights in the housing. Am I nuts or is this indeed the case?

I'd like some advice from anyone that's spliced into these wires. It seems easy but are there any dos or don'ts?

That is correct just one connector per headlamp for all the headlamp functions. Blkwagons posted the wire colors in this thread;
viewtopic.php?f=23&t=93&start=10#p861" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

And I concur with the wire colors he stated according to the service manual:

"the color of the left turn signal is light blue with a white stripe and the right is dark blue with a white stripe."

THose would the be 12 volt positive wires and they you would tap the other into one of the black grounds. There is a positive and a negative wire for the LED's on the repeaters, just try it one way, test it, and if it does not work try the other and it should be OK.

Also for anyone needing the Holden part number for the repeaters they are:

92251684
92251687

And doing some research into the wiring I found that the repeaters are actually connected on the inside of the vehicle to the wires coming off the dash and heading to the rear of the vehicle and the wires go out through a grommet on the side of the vehicle . How easy it is to access this grommet will be the determining factor if I go that way or up to the headlamp.

Just an update on my last post. Took apart the passenger side foot well wiring center. Seemed to come apart pretty nice. Found the grommet. And the two wires needed (left and right turn signal) are present in the body harness that was moved out of the way. In doing electrical it is always preferred to have connections be in a dry interior compartment rather than a wet exterior. So I will be making my connections on the interior body harness and sending the wires out the grommet to the repeater assembly.

Still to investigate is the drivers side footwell wiring center. That I have a feeling will be more difficult as there is a fuse box on that side. See if I can sneak the wire into the grommet without removing all of it.

Harness and connections removed out of foot well cavity:

This is the area they came from:

Here you can see the black grommet, on the other side of that is the back of the fender.

Steve,
Thank you, Thank you! I have always wanted to investigate this. I will follow along...

Good news the driver side is even easier to get to. I just gave my fuse box a wiggle and it fell out. Bit worried about that actually, but anyway easy access to the grommet that is behind it.

I bought a supply of the connectors needed to make the plugs for the back of the connectors. Going to mock some up and see what is the best way to attach them. Have a few weeks off work so give me some time and I will post what I came up with.
