Chris,

Can you please email me at tomslick@sparepartsracing.com?

I will be off work the week of Christmas and New Years, and wanted to see about sending up my radio sometime during that period...

Also wanted to talk to you about the video connectors...

Later,

Thanks,

I'm pretty sure they are serialized together like the old G8's so swapping in a common panel for programming and operation check would be bad to say the least when you got it back. My memory is horrible, drop me a line from my site I'll get you all setup!

Ok guys the programming is up on the site. I thought long and hard about pricing for this and used a couple of baselines to help. First one is the coastal tech unlock modules that physically install in the car. These are $299 and only unlock existing features while in motion and occasionally add another input. Our iwm programming that allows existing features to be used while moving for most vehicles is $199, a bargain compared to coastal tech. I think the way this is priced is a bargain when you consider not only are you getting the in motion unlocks but more importantly all of the other new features you are getting! :)

Thanks Chris, I compared your other radio unlocks and this and agree it is fairly priced for what we are getting out of our radios.

So all we need to do for the USB support is add the plug to here?

Correct but the car should have it?? Have to use it to update the software even at a dealer level so it should be there I would hope?

No, it is not there on either the 9C1 or 9C3 and the plug I pointed to is covered with tape if I recall (Tom Slick should know for sure).
So we have to add it to get USB support and route something. I think the dealers are supposed to have a special plug to make updates, but not 100% sure on that.

There is a service cable you can buy... I built my own... used it to update my radio at the dealership... They told me they wouldn't buy one for just one Caprice PPV...

Chris, is your programming update put on a flash drive and then uploaded through the Tech 2, like the "factory" updates?

Crap, I ghetto rigged one for bench use but there is no way I could use it in a car and I have a guy who wants to come up tomorrow with his new car to be programmed! I have to see how quickly I can get the J-Tool for it :\ Our programming is a 6 step process one of the steps is indeed the USB flash drive but we don't utilize the Tech 2.
