A/C and HEAT POWER FLUCTUATING

Post by 2822MM »

The weirdest thing keeps happening on my 2013 Chevy Caprice. When the air-conditioning or heat is on, you can hear and feel the fan power fluctuating on its own which is odd. It goes low then high as if though it’s powering down then up, then down then up. Any information would be greatly appreciated as to what the culprit might be.

Are you in AUTO mode? Or you have it set on a fixed fan speed?

Not a Caprice but similar thing happened to me in my 08 3500, turned out to be the blower motor going out. On full speed, it would do like you said until one day nothing at all. Removed and replaced with whatever over the counter Oreilly had and now it's 4(max) setting is like 3.

It seems to happen regardless of auto or manual fan speed selection.

Common culprits would be either the blower motor or blower motor resistor. But give a good inspection to the wiring a melted connector not out of the question as those are some high amp circuits.

#3 in this pic is the module/resistor
