Gauging interest ~ 'diffuser' trim piece with reflector
As title ~ if there's enough interest I may try to order a batch. I have not tried but looks like they should fit.

Re: Gauging interest ~ 'diffuser' trim piece with reflector
Is it just a reflector, or is there power/lighting?
This would only be good for 2011 PPV, since 2012 & later changed to a 1-piece rear fascia, and that center area (trim panel) went away.

2012 & newer (same art work as 2011, but no call-out for the trim panel)

I want a rear diffuser with no exhaust cutouts. Has anyone ever seen anything like this?

Not sure if such a thing exists--all Caprice models have the cutouts, from any pictures I've ever seen--Holden, Chevy, Buick PA, and Daewoo variants.

Reflector only ~ should be an easy job to attach a led strip.Navy Lifer wrote:Is it just a reflector, or is there power/lighting?

edit:
Incorrect information above. That piece is actually a rear fog light that turns on with front fogs.

Re: Gauging interest ~ 'diffuser' trim piece with reflector
I may be interested in getting one of these. How many constitute a "batch"? On another note, I noticed a picture of a Caprice that had a G8 valance piece. I purchased one to try myself. It doesn't quite fit. However, I have the 2011 Caprice Repair Manual set and it shows two different valance piece replacement options, one that matches my current valance piece and another that looks like and attaches exactly like the G8 valance! I can not find a single internet picture with a G8 style valance attached, so I'm a bit confused now. Could this have been an option in Oz only? Bill, do you know anything about this?

I have a Holden tow bar on its way here so most likely I don't need this reflector piece. May bring a few back next time I travel to China, won't happen anytime soon.Holden_buff wrote:I may be interested in getting one of these. How many constitute a "batch"? Are you a member of the FB caprice group? I remember someone posted a few pics with g8 diffuser attached to his ppv, not a fan of that look thou.

There's a great deal of Holden "art work" in the parts and service data that can be misleading--while a certain part may appear to be shown in an illustration, the reality is often not the same--so don't take it to heart if a printed illustration from GM/Holden & GMNA/Chevy shows an image that is seemingly "simpatico" for several variants, when in fact it's not.
As L77 mentioned--and I also remember seeing that picture--there's a PPV out there somewhere with the G8 rear panel (aka diffuser) fitted into place. I agree it's an acquired taste, and really may not be the best option, unless being different is that important to you. I actually have a GXP panel to play with, but I've never gotten around to seeing what it takes to make it work--your comments cause me to think it's not likely to be something I'd try. The Buick part is more interesting at this point.
The one concern I'd have with the Buick trim panel is whether all of the mounting points are the same as for the PPV bumper cover and underpanel--with possibly different bumper standards, the question is whether the 2011 PPV bumper cover is the same as used on the Park Avenue--something L77 may be able to confirm. Just looking at the PA pictures, it has the embedded sensors that the PPV lacks, so it's going to be a different part, unless earlier versions of the PA didn't use the sensors and somehow the bumper cover ended up the same as on 2011 PPV. Mentioned earlier, GM PN 92253145 is the part I'm referring to - http://www.gmpartsdirect.com/chevrolet/ ... mper-cover" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;
The 2011 configuration certainly makes adding a hitch easier--the Buick PA wasn't ever likely to be used for towing anything, considering it's placement in the China market, so the reflectorized version of the panel is an interesting option, if a tow hitch isn't anything on your to-do list.
L77--what model year is that PA, and what range of years was it offered in the China market?

All the guys rebadging to Holden, why not rebadge to Buick? Where does that variation come from, China?
