Eric would you mind adding a tally by model year and overall sales to your monthly updates?

Isn't Eric getting the info from here (mentioned at the beginning of this thread):

http://www.goodcarbadcar.net/2011/01/ch ... gures.html" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

Which is kinda what you are asking? Right? That website is continuously updated.

OK... the December, 2015 sales figures are in this morning. A resounding 220 units were sold in December, bringing the total for calendar year 2015 to 1,845 units sold. Only 2011 was worse at 880 units, but that was a partial year's worth of sales.

So.... as of January 1, 2016 across all model years and countries (Canada), total sales of the PPV are..... drumroll please....

14,089 units!!!

With this kind of trend, they'll be lucky to see 1,000 units sold for 2016, especially since GM's been very forthright about plans to shoot Holden's factory in the head in 2017. But, hopefully I'm wrong and the GM sales force gets marching orders to SELL SELL SELL (channeling Kramer here...)!!

Bottom line is that we still have very rare cars. There are only a very few car models that have sold so dismally over five model years that were kept in production. And the crying shame is that it's a really, really decent car.

In retrospect, when you think about the design & testing costs, the production costs, the import costs and the support costs for this platform, you really have to ask the question.... why did GM enter this project in the first place setting it up for such a large sales debacle??

Here's hopes for a better 2016!

January 2016 sales figures are in. Worst month ever for Caprice vehicle sales at a whopping 21 units! Maybe the fact that cars are slow coming in from down under, the reported major parts availability crunch, or the fact the platform is rumored to be going away with no replacement decided upon yet is skewing sales. Anyway, these numbers are abysmal.

I just want there to be enough available for parts cars in the future. :)

February, 2016 sales figures are in. Good news, numbers are up! A whole 71 cars were sold this month. Just think, if things go well maybe we'll be into (Gasp!) Three Digit Sales in March! :-)
