This is more than a year old, but I don't recall seeing it previously--a few "nuggets" that caught my attention.

"If you ever wanted to attack the racetrack in the Caprice V, it can be optioned with a performance brake option, which delivers larger diameter rotors for just $350."

"Optional Performance Brake Upgrade: Heavy Duty front brake. Upgraded master cylinder, front caliper and disc"
Not sure where we could find the clearly-defined specs with rotor dimensions, but I'm thinking....what are the odds that the "Performance Brake Upgrade" is exactly what is standard on PPV (345mm front rotors). More curious what caliper is being used, considering that the standard brakes on Holden Commodore & Caprice are basically same as G8 GT - 321mm front rotor with aluminum twin-piston floating caliper, and it would be a surprise IF the option front brakes used the same single-piston caliper from PPV, as it seems unlikely the marketing imagery would accept a change from twin-piston to single-piston calipers as an improved performance feature.
My point is....IF the front upgrade was a 355mm rotor, it would most likely include Brembo calipers, and that would receive specific mention in the promotional material, so I'm more inclined to think the 345mm rotors replace the standard 321mm rotors.
I do have a question out to one of my contacts--we'll see if an answer is forthcoming.
Also noticed that LS3 Caprice V has 3.27 axle ratio standard.

I know some HSV cars have AP calipers, not brembo ones, not sure if thats based on model year or options selected though

HSV doesn't count, as they're independent of GM--they've gone their own way for quite awhile on brakes, typically not production (PBR or Brembo) sourced--AP, as you note.

Tentative confirmation from DBA that the front "upgrade" rotor for Holden Caprice with LS3 is the same as PPV (345mm). Still do not know what caliper is being used.Navy Lifer wrote: so I'm more inclined to think the 345mm rotors replace the standard 321mm rotors.
