Got access to a G8 part out

Post by Mooseman »

So I got a line on a V6 G8 being parted out about 3.5 hours away. So basically it's $800 and I can take pretty much anything and everything I need. My list is the center console with shifter, buttons, etc, all the seats, steering wheel and carpet.

Anything else I should look at grabbing? He only needs to keep the windshield and some exterior parts.

Rear end? I’m not sure if the v6 got the same diff or not but it’s probably numerically higher

the rear calipers and rotors are good for those wanting to install 15" wheels for drag racing

See if it has a good Trunk Lid Liner
.
If it has the Lower Dash Insulator Panels you can add those to a 2011.

ANd if the taillights are the full red ones the G8 guys kill for those in good condition.

And Get the interior A and Full B pillar covers - They are black but many of us got holes in them if you do not need them.
On that note guys switching over to a black headliner like the Black dome light assemblies front and rear. Also sun visors in black with the center supports.

Rear Seat Grab Handles

Get the rear seat belt buckles - many guys missing those from auction cars.

Exterior door handles if nice.

Exterior mirrors (common repair, good to have an extra)

I think it's black.

I'll see what I can do for those parts although he is taking all of them.off for me. Maybe he'll let me.loose on it.

And don't forget I'm in Canada so shipping will be expensive to.the US.

That's what I thought too but then said he's pulling the parts first me.

Someone may want the rear seat assembly. The seat directly swaps to the 11-13 PPV's at a minimum - I'm not sure on the 2014 & up cars. If it's a split seat with fold-down center section it's an awesome upgrade and opens up the transport possibilities for longer items as it can extend capacity from the trunk into the passenger compartment (there's a factory hole there). I upgraded my 2011 to the G8 GT rear seat with the center section & cupholders.

Make darned well sure if the seat gets pulled that the assembly comes complete with hardware and the little brackets, if you don't get those from the wreck they are pretty much unobtainium as a stand-alone item.
