spark plug change
spark plug change
What do you all know about the idea of changing spark plugs on a 50K mile car with 250 hours TOTAL idle time. Guessing about 1500 hours running time. Runs good. Is it worth the time and money. I am aware I think GM calls for 100K. Everything else on the car has been maintained way ahead of required time? Thanks.

Yea really not worth it. You can pull a few and inspect but you will find no wear to speak of. Rule is wait till 100K or if you get a misfire before that replace them all.
Re: spark plug change
With that mileage along with the low hours, I would say it would be a waste of time and money.

the original ac delco platinum id change around 50k , when GM farmed out plugs to ngk and irridium , they were alot better plug
i think the current are champions , and not much experience with them
but overall around 50k id look them over , and from there 15-20k

Like most of the others, I'd say not worth it unless you're chasing an issue. Had a slight vibration at idle on our '10 Tahoe with, at the time, about 85K miles. I did plugs and wires while changing the oil. The plugs all looked great. The new plugs and wires made zero difference in the way the truck ran.
