2014 PPV TRUNK WONT CATCH THE TRUNK LATCH.

My 2014 PPV trunk closes but the actuator doesn’t catch it properly to turn the trunk light or TRUNK OPEN message relay off on the dash. When I push the trunk actuator latch in with a flathead, it acknowledges and trunk light turns off and message disappears. Is my actuator latch the issue or why does it not securely catch my trunk lid all the way??

try closing the trunk lid and push down on it , and see if that shuts the light off

if so its likely out of adjustment

I did some analyzing and moving things here and there and now it works fine with both remote and interior buttons. I even took the latch actuator off to examine it.

so was it just out of adjustment ?

Not the trunk itself but most likely the latch assembly wasn’t bolted on at the correct spot so I undid the 2 bolts and moved it up so it started closing properly.
