Hello everyone,
Where does gm put the factory build sheets in these cars?
I know a lot of the Chevy’s in the 70’s where placed behind the seat of above the gas tank.
Anyone find theirs?

The manufacturers use an SPID label, Service Parts Identifier. On our cars it is attached to underside of the spare tire cover. It contains all of the RPO codes/options for that vehicle. Just verify that the VIN on the label matches your car VIN. Sometimes the spare tire carrier is removed to accommodate in-service equipment. When the car goes to auction, they may just throw in what ever spare tire cover is lying around in storage.

Regards,
Maurice

You can also provide your VIN to the dealer (parts or service) and they can print out a complete build sheet for your car that includes all the RPO or SPID codes including descriptions. The dealer that i use was more than happy to do this for me.

Even easier, you can email socialmedia@gm.com with your vin number and ask for a buildsheet. They then send it over!
