AUS to US shipping methods ????
WOW I have been in talk with a couple wrecking yards in Australia about selling me parts but the price of shipping is criminal. These companies are being quoted $1400 to ship a bumper to California and about $1300 for the side skirts. Any with suggestions on reasonable shipping like what C.P. use to charge would be greatly appreciated. THANKS

GM73,
Yes, shipping from Australia is expensive. There seem to be a lot of "trigger points" regarding shipping costs. Even the boot lip spoiler length puts a package into a higher cost bracket. Weight is also another kicker. A set of new factory HSV headers cost over $275 to ship. Basically the same size box with LED taillights was ONLY $100. To ship internationally requires a lot more info and package prepping than what we would need for our FedEx. The shipper has to properly identify and state the contents of the package. The package is also subject to Australian and US inspection to verify.
I would work with Paul on my orders to get as many small parts as possible without going over a certain weight or size.
I think that there have been some discussion about possibly combing members packages and parts in either group buys or even a large container shipments. I believe there is a company in Indianapolis, IN and probably one or two in California that do such things.
Good Luck,
Maurice

Re: AUS to US shipping methods ????
Ive repeatedly bought small things like a steering wheel from a seller on ebay austrailia and had to pay only $40 to have it shipped here via their post system. Only took about 10 days average. Also ordered the factory spoiler which came in a huge box from a Holden parts dealer and that was same time frame maybe $60 shipped. The dollar conversion works to our favor and I've had good luck just emailing sellers and asking if they would ship to usa and what the cost is like.

Re: AUS to US shipping methods ????
It seems importing from AUS is very pricey. What do you guys need? Give me the list and i might be able to get a lot cheaper than that. Parts on my mind to make our cars look much better and important is
1- Front bumper with the Holden grill.
2- Fog lights.
3- Tail lights.
4- Right/Left front fender lights ( Instead of the black pieces).
5- Spoiler.
6- sides trims.
7- Some badges like the SS in the trunk and both sides.
I have the pics down for verification.
