I have successfully installed an SS steering wheel part number 92276592 in my 2014 Caprice. It is a direct bolt on install for 2014-2017. It does have a couple extra buttons in the left switch bezel so if that bothers you, the switch from your original wheel could be transferred. It also has paddle shifters. Before I plugged this in I confirmed that the part numbers for a 2014 SS and 2014 Caprice clock spring are the same. You will need 1 or 2 small allen wrenches or picks to release the airbag and a T50 bit for the retaining bolt. No puller is required and the wheel is splined so it can only go on one way. I had mine done in less than a half hour. I really enjoy the sporty look and feel. The perforated leather matches the dash and door panels perfectly. The original wheel is in the first picture, the bottom two are the SS wheel. Let me know what you think.

Thanks,
Collin
I just bought the ZL1 steering wheel p/n 22896552. I found that p/n in another subject that said it would work with the 2014+ Caprice and it comes with paddle shifters as well and you have to hook up the wiring then turn on TUTD in the ECM with HP Tuners. Do you know anything about it? I'm hoping to install it soon. Picked it up on ebay for $140.

To get paddle shifters to work you will most likely have to add wiring.

SS wheel is direct swap.

I put a gen 5 SS 1LE suede wheel on mine. Not 100% how I feel about it. Looks nice though. White stitching matches the stitching on my 14. The airbag is slightly different for a 1LE or ZL1 but you don’t notice it unless you really start to look.

FYI Malibu/regal wheels fit as well, but have different airbags. So you have to change airbag mounts on the wheels if you desire to do that. I’m probably going to do a regal wheel in mine.

Forgot to mention, camaro wheel controls hook up and work but they are more blue than the caprices white. I swapped the controls. Had to slightly mod the trim pieces to fit the caprice buttons, but it wasn’t bad.

Found the 2014 SS TUTD wiring diagram on http://www.bbbind.com" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;
It is free to register there and they have TSB and Wiring diagrams available.

Took a screen shot of it, posted it here:

Looks like 1 wire on the BCM side in X3 p21 to the Wheel.

Is that sport mode selector off BCM connector X2 p11 ? Its a wire going to the shifter.
I'm just glancing at it, I don't have a 2014 so I can't go any deeper.

i would guess that is what the X2 P11 is since its at the lever , and on the SS you push the lever over to go into sport , then you tap up or down to get into manual mode

Here is the sport mode diagram for a 2017 Caprice from the same site. Seems the Caprice only has the sport mode button on a different connector of the BCM.

I used 2017 because on that site the 2014 diagram was clearly for '11-'13 cars, not for '14+
