Rear defog defrost

Post by szron »

I always thought it's just crappy but now it doesn't work. I checked the RR Defog 40A fuse, it's fine.

Where do you even begin trouble shooting?

I know my 2006 Impala had a wire for the defrost that would short by the front passenger seat but I'm not sure how to go about finding it.

first you would want to inspect the contacts on the rear window make sure the wires did not fall off. May have to remove the plastic side pieces to even see them. You could then test to make sure you got voltage and ground at the wires as well. If all that looks good there maybe a break in the grid on the window. rare but it happens.
