Any 5th Gen with the proper labels will work. They will have a label indicating the ratio and whether they’re LSD, or not.

If you can find a rare 1LE Camaro then you will have the 3.91 rear gear and a heavy duty locking diff. It will have the black hood and all of them were stick shift.

Has anybody on here tried 3.91 gears? I've been looking for a 3.27 but only found a 3.91... Worried that may be a little to low for my liking.

Keep in mind that these 6L80Es have a 4.03 first gear, which is pretty steep. It all depends on what you want to do with the car, though.

Honestly, if you run the numbers, you'll see that the sweet spot for the PPV is 3.27 (2.92/3.27/3.45). The 3.70 & 3.91 gears were used by GM only on manual transmission cars. Even 3.45 can be a little iffy, and it was also installed on "stick" Camaro's, too, and never offered on sedans.

Local SS owner built an LSA upgrade, switched to 3.70, and couldn't make it work--first gear was useless (running 6L80). I had purchased his 3.27 gear, but ended up selling it back to him. 3.91 would be interesting in a T56/TR6060 manual conversion car, for sure.

my friend switched his GXP 6spd manual from the oe 3.70 to the camaro 3.45

my old G8 GT which shared our 2.92s , was able to run high 11's , and other G8's have ran into the 9's with the 2.92's , but the majority were in the 10's

i love my 2.92's
