VE Series 1 Aerpro Aftermarket Stereo Install Kit

Post by 91C02920 »

Has anyone looked at this solution for putting in an aftermarket radio yet?
Looks like its for Series 1 cars, G8 style, and single zone climate.
Seems you would have to do a downgrade to series 1 single zone of course.

This site has it for $349AUD

Here is the Aerpro site:

Edit:Facebook says one is coming for a dual zone in December possibly.

Youtube demo here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zXNoVNHU9GA" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

Looks like it will be a good option when dual zone comes out.

Found the install video (speed it to 2x as it's long)

To me, this is getting expensive. For $250, I got mine flashed by WAMS and has everything I want except NAV. I would imagine the dual zone one will be even more expensive and then add the cost of the HU itself, you might be nearing $1000 and you didn't even buy speakers or an amp yet.

For those that absolutely want an aftermarket HU, then this looks like it could be an option if they come out with the dual zone.

This kit fits the base ~ SS VE S1 style dash layout, the HSV/Calais & Statesman/Caprice have a different style dash, a custom build using the electronic internals to seperate the a/c from radio would be the only use.
