Has anyone replaced the bushings in their front sway bar?

Post by VintageIron41 »

Hello-
Has anyone replaced just the bushings in their PPV front sway bar? Mine is a 2014, I read where the only GM part is the entire bar, but have found just the bushings online, since they are in there tight, is there a " have done it here is a practical way to do it " method?

Thank you!

Weather hasnt cooperated with me but when it does, my plan is to pull the front wheels, and there is a small plastic cover that can be removed to gain access to the bushing bracket. From that point any combo of universal joints plus sockets or wrenches could likely remove the nuts and bolts. As for torque I believe the values are fairly low and I was just going to get hand tight then torque from up above. Good luck

Did you find a Whiteline or other Poly bushing or what are you using?

Not sure if directed at me or OP, but I'm using OEM for now due to the 2011-2013 bar being slightly different sized vs G8, but the 2014 front bar IIRC is the same size as an SS/VF bar.

Could probably cross reference the size of the bar and find a universal bushing if need be.

EDIT: some info I used on sizes is here.
