Kayhan VE Series 2 Upgrade

Post by tedwards0633 »

I have decided to do the radio upgrade! It looks really good in Dut_The_SS_nuT’s PPV’s a little pricey but it will bring the Interior to life. I have ordered the dash trim kit from LSXtream, if you email them they will send the product info to place the order as it is not on their website. I will upload video when I done.

You’ll love it! I’ve been working with the software engineers to work all the bugs out! This particular one was never intended to be in the US! I’m fairly certain they didn’t know we got ANY version of the Series 2 over here! If you run into any issues along the way, just let me know and I’ll pass it along! It seems nothing I have presented to them has taken longer than 48 hours to resolve, with the exception of the HVAC knobs, but we are working on it now!!
(When it comes out of the box, the controls, control opposite sides of the car, left knob controls right, right knob controls left, when you change to “left peptide” the SCREEN HVAC controls are correct but the knobs are backwards)

Got my Kahman radio today! Going to make some minor adjustments, the top shroud that was sent has the round air vents so I am going to try to modify the one I have so I can keep the square look. I’ll post the update.

Can’t wait to see how the square vent shroud comes out!!! I couldn’t figure out a way to do it without leaving a gap!

So I got the Kayhan in, blew a fuse and it took me 16 hours before I found the radio fuse behind the battery..smh. I tried to use the PPV shround but the gap was too big consider all the work I put in the radio install. I will in the near future add filler to the bottom of the shround and sand down to fill that gap to be a OEM look then paint with my bed-liner. I will get the pic uploaded when the paint drys.

Quick tips:

1. I did not need to take out glove box or drivers side kick panel, I have done a radio install before and was able to get the the wires after I took out the console panels.

2. BUY A ANTENNA EXTENDER! The one the sent is like too short and will give you a headache.

3. If you are like me you may blow the radio fuse, and may not know that there is a small fuse box in the trunk behind the battery that controls the radio (25A).

4. Had issues with the Nav but I am a Waze guy so if you download the app you can have Waze be the primary navigation which works better for me.

On another note, the Kayhan support team via Facebook response time is amazing!
