So.... after trying to use Rock Auto as a "Hollander Exchange", I have nothing definitive. The flex joint ACDELCO 92267163 shows as being used at the engine side and differential end, is used on the GTO, G8, GXP, Caprice and Sedan SS for all models and years. The pinion flange ( actually the 6L80e slip yoke) ACDELCO 24237043 is used in the GB, GXP, Caprice, Sedan SS until 2017 and in the Automatic Camaro until 2015. The 2010-2015 Camaro manual transmission flex joint is PN ACDELCO 92249108 with the differential flange PN ACDELCO 22960154
The ACDELCO 89058847 shows as being a manual trans "differential flange" but shows as being used in the CTS and C

It looks like we will need to physically compare all of these components. I have not had any issues, but, please do not accept my findings blindly. I am away from my car and cannot verify anything currently.

Maybe I'm just stupid, but even though they are dimensionally the same, isn't it possible for the flex plate/coupler to be weighted or balanced differently?

Again the Camaro one looked just like the Caprice one, but caused a lot of vibration for me.
13 Caprice 6.0L, Solo catback exhaust, 3.27 diff, VCM OTR and Volant throttle spacer, MSD coils plugs wires, transmission pan upgrade and widemouth filter. Camaro 18" rims.

I refused my bolts and put blue locktite on. Guess I’ll see what happens.



My coupler did have some yellow paint on it that matched with a mark across the driveshaft which could of been some sort of alignment mark. I made sure it lined up when I installed my Camaro diff but obviously the diff didn’t match anything. Seems fine so far.

As mentioned in the post after yours, the possibility might be that the prop shaft & flange could be disconnected & clocked 120 degrees (or even twice if need be) to see if that improves the vibration....it makes no sense that changing back to the Camaro "doughnut" would fix the issue, and I have to believe the flange and the doughnut are both meant to be as close to "neutral" balance as possible already.

Perhaps the 'donut' has become deformed or is somehow compromised internally? The former might show up with turning a wheel with the car in neutral and a runout gauge riding on that end of the driveshaft. Not sure what the max runout would be allowable. The latter would be harder to test, and may not show up until a certain driveshaft RPM is reached.

i think the wheel tq was changed from the 5th gen camaro and CTS-V's , at the lower tq like the G8 , some owners complained of wheel ticking, and alot of rotors were replaced , tell GM changed the spec to 140lbs , which seemed to have cured the issue

Does anyone know the part numbers for the driveshaft to coupler bolts and nuts for the front (transmission side)? These are the hex head bolts, not the torx.

Bill,

There are 6 bolts at each end. There are two different types of bolts at the front and two different types at the rear. The ones you mentioned at the rear are the coupler to diff bolts that get no nuts (they thread directly into the diff). That part number has not seemed to change in a long time. The ones you mentioned at the front are not clear to me as both types of bolts get nuts. Which bolts did you give the part numbers for at the front? The prop shaft to coupler bolts or the coupler to trans bolts? If anyone has a picture with part numbers it would make this a lot easier.

The photos I linked to above on G8nation are now blurred due to photobucket, but the part numbers for the front bolts and nuts that you gave didn't match what was in the g8nation post anyway, possibly because GM changed them. Not sure. Either way, we could use a diagram of the entire driveshaft assembly with current part numbers for all 12 bolts and 9 nuts that connect the driveshaft to the trans and diff if anyone has it. I realize that the prop shaft to coupler bolts and nuts might be the same on the front and rear, but I'm only guessing here as I don't have access to any GM information.
