Very nice video s. I had already done mine and used the same pads and rotors( not drilled like you used.) What a nice smooth quiet setup it turned out to be. Thanks.

After completing the break-in (bedding) procedure and getting a few miles on these rotors/pads, what an improvement! I performed a brake bleed/flush afterwards and now the brake pedal feels like it should! I've used these same rotors on my Chevy SSR pickup with good results as well.

I was first surprised you could find the parking brake shoes locally but then I checked and they are pretty common on several models like Blazers/Jimmys, Corvettes and Azteks.

Heh, so you thought they'd be like the parking brake shoes that are on the 94-96 B-body cars? Those ARE hard to find, and when you do, they're stupid-expensive (last purchase a few years ago were ~$100). I'll bet they're pretty much no longer available now.

Reconnect Interior Rear Door Handles

Post by rcg530 »

I show you how to reconnect the interior rear door handle cables to allow rear seat passengers to open the rear doors in a Chevy Caprice PPV.

Nice. That question pops up here once in a while.

Nice! I would add to lower the window, close the door and test the door latch from outside the car. When I was doing the cables on our '12, I got something crossed up, and when I closed the door, from the inside, The door wouldn't open, from inside or outside. Since it was the first door latch I did, I couldn't get out of the back without crawling over into the front seat area!

I don't remember what the issue was, but I had to basically pull the door panel loose with the door closed. Real PITA, but I did get it off enough I could reconnect things.

Interesting... Was the child safety lock feature enabled (disabling the pull handle)? I was tackling the task while sitting outside of the car. I'll keep that in mind to mention in a future video.

Project Status Update - 4/26/2020

Post by rcg530 »

I've been busy updating the Body Control Module (BCM) to reactivate daytime running lights, automatic headlights and rear door window switches. I tried out Xtreme Solutions LVR 503 Dynamic Cut buffing compound on my nasty looking hood with good results and I fixed some oil leaks from the engine valve covers with parts from RockAuto LLC.
