Post by 402capriceguy »

New member here!just bought my first caprice a few months ago. Its a 2011 9c1 with 82,000 miles. Since ive had it ive done new struts/ bushings. Ac compessor and condensor solo catback exhaust with no mufflers and a vararram intake. I ran into a fellow member “patrol “ that invited me to the group. Looking forward to learning some info from the group.

402? Does that mean you are "stroked"? I am very tempted to do a 4 inch stroke. For me, I am not constructing a "strip car". Rather I want a "street car". That means grunt which comes with cubes and a longer stroke. I may sacrifice some quarter mile time but I may never go to the track. Unfortunately, the crank alone is 850 bucks :(. Now add pistons and maybe connecting rods.... gaskets, etc. Pretty soon, you're at 1600 bucks for 40 or less HP. Is it worth it? Don't ask my wife :).
