Factory HVAC control w/aftermarket stereo
I'm looking for y'all's thoughts on stripping down a silver box to bypass the radio portion leaving the HVAC control intact so that I could add an aftermarket head unit. If I use a '14 or later HVAC control panel it would still show the set temperature in the control knobs so using the touch screen would not be needed. Would removing the speaker outputs and steering wheel controls cause the BCM to freak out or cause any other issues?

unfortunatley things do not work that way , 11-13 are 1 design and arcitecture , and 14-17 are different
there is some oprions , but they are limited for the 11-13 , and even more limited on the 14-17

I do believe that a company in Australia came out with an Android replacement radio for the 11-13 (WM) cars but was a major inve$tment. Somebody posted about it here. Or there was some sort of adapter interface that had a separate display for HVAC functions that allowed you to install any other radio.
Best and easiest thing is to just get your current radio reprogrammed by White Audio. https://www.whiteautoandmedia.com/produ ... ogramming/
Unfortunately the GPS will never work as the hardware is just not there.
