I am not a real big electronics guy but is there not some sort of diode that only allows a certain voltage through? So maybe like anything over 3 volts get let through? Not even sure it would be called a diode.

How it works technically inside the shifter is by sending different Ohms resistance through the Signal wire back to the BCM. Only problem is in the schematic for our cars they did not list the Ohm values for each mode. But the little rectangles in the shifter indicate resistance diodes in GM schemat...

It has been confirmed in many instances that AFM engine from GM are getting a pass with a tune in CA. As long as all your monitors are reporting as factory then any tune is OK.

Then also look in the files section on the main NewCaprice website and you can see all the technical manuals for all the years. There are wiring diagrams in there for e Aux Battery. This is frm the 2011, a few wires changed for 14+
