Re: Where is everyone?

Back in the day of the impala ss / caprice forum I got hooked. Then I bought my 01 durmax and hit the diesel forum. Made some good buddies on both and it was a blast. Now that my B4U Caprice was sold (after 17 years) I found the PPV, and the heavens parted and the angels sang: AAAAA Ahhhhhh!!! :D H...

Re: Weird Caprice listings - SCA auction - Savannah, GA

Not sure how accurate a VIN lookup, but I searched for '2013 Caprice (VIN number)', and many showed up being from/at either Chicago Motors or Asia Motors. None of the pictures from those resellers had a light bar on them. They were all in the $18995 range. VIN numbers searched for: 6G1MK5R24DL820417...

Re: 2014 Caprice 6.0 fuel leak

I'm not 100% certain here, since I haven't had to do anything with the fuel system, but those screw-type hose clamps are not factory. Yes, someone's been under there 'fixin' things!!

Re: grinding/buzzing noise when driving

Wheel hub swap completed today. It was only 95 outside, but it was a wet. heat. It went surprisingly well, considering the car is from the rust belt. I did have to take a BFH to the old hub after unbolting it. Cleaned the mounting surface on the spindle and hit it with a coat of engine enamel....

Re: 11-13 Replacement Radio Knob

That's me!! I just went out and did a trial fit of my repaired knob. Fit was perfect, but I could only test it on the tuner side. The new knob fits the volume control stem so tightly, I couldn't pull it off. The old knob has been setting in the house for a few days now after dabbing some e...

Re: PPV Hub cap spacer

As-promised, here's what I did: When we took our '18 Tahoe PPV in for new tires, I removed the hub caps myself for safe keeping while the tire monkeys did their thing. When we got it back, and I was checking the wheel nut torque and reattaching the hub caps, I discovered that one of the dam spacers ...

Re: Yet another endless build for me. This time on the Caprice.

Ordered GM P/N 92292578 radio knob to replace the OEM volume knob that broke on me. Fit is perfect! Ordered another for spares for when the tuning knob shatters. ;)

Re: 11-13 Replacement Radio Knob

Dragging this up from the dead. Had the volume knob fall off the radio yesterday. It's come loose before, but this time I had a closer look, and the very thin plastic that goes around the volume stem is now broken. I'll be attempting to repair it, and probably even reinforce it with some ...

Re: Yay or nay?

It never ceases to amaze me how much dust you guys in SA get on their cars, but that IS the environment. :D With any kind of 'knock', I'd expect to plan for an engine rebuild, and hope you get lucky. Like you said, w/o a battery, you can't scan for codes OR even hear where/how bad the noise is. The ...
