Re: Anyone using a Blutooth ODBii scanner to Smartphone??

CarScanner (Android App) does some neat stuff in terms of watching "vitals" as gauges on your phone (or maybe better still, a tablet). The (maybe) downside to the OBD scanner is that it stays on (led light tells you so - and I think they all do) when the car is off. I'm not sure how much of a drain ...

Re: Anyone using a Blutooth ODBii scanner to Smartphone??

I used this one: https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B074DWH8JR/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_search_asin_title?ie=UTF8&psc=1 for 13 bucks. You can also get apps working (on a blue tooth enabled stereo and talking to your OBD scanner) that will show your gauge readings on your radio. I posted a youtube link somewhe...

Re: How hard is it. Pan drop and filter change

yes , there is a factory option from the trucks , and its pretty cheap 24267668 -25.13 - DIPSTICK 24260606 - 17.79 - TUBE 15796802 - 5.97 - SEAL I can't be sure but I am getting a sense that the JRE is easier to install than the GM truck version (desperately trying to save face for paying too much)...

Re: Transmission tune

One thing I did learn reading out there is to no over do it with killing torque management or you'll kill your trans. Goat Rope Garage on Youtube is an excellent resource for all things tuning. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=M8X5z0qxnM4&ab_channel=GoatRopeGarage Thursday nights (most) at 7pm centr...

Re: Greetings

I thought about going to a local auto upholster shop and chatting with them before I started something🤷🏻‍♂️ What's special about carpet in a car (is it a moldable (for shape) type)? Is there some "heat technique" to "shape" it? My brother will likely end up with a 9C1 (I have carpet already) and it...

Re: Greetings

Welcome! I have a black '13 as well. There's a bunch of great information here - sounds like you have enjoyed that some already. Besides the carpet and headliner, do you have any upgrades/changes in mind? The carpet will be challenging to find. A "half-way" measure is G8 carpet - which is probably e...

Re: Oil filter part number

There are YouTube videos where the popular brands are cut open. After watching these videos, I don't do anything but Wix. There are a few others that are seemingly close in quality (don't recall which) but Wix is obviously top tier. Exactly how much better filters matter.. I think they are but I don...
