Re: Grinding from rear passenger side
Well it seems like the car is in a limp mode. The dash doesn’t tell me that but I tried to move it today and got a CEL. The codes came back P0700 and P0797. I still believe that there is grinding coming from my passenger brake area but it appears more is going on.

Re: Grinding from rear passenger side
So it wasn’t the parking brake. Does anyone have any other ideas?

Re: Rear end options for my V6 Caprice
Yes it is possible to have a V6 car with the G80 limited slip differential. The difference is the V6 cars did not automatically come with the G80 as standard equipment but the buyer could option the G80 for extra (minimal cost). The V8 cars all came with the G80 as standard equipment. So if you hav...

Re: Grinding from rear passenger side
If it’s as simple as a parking brake, I will be thrilled. Also I’m glad the car lot I bought the car from covered the cost to swap the rear ends.

Grinding from rear passenger side
I have a 2012 caprice V6. It started when I would accelerate from a stop I would get a slight thumping sound from the rear end. That quickly went from thumps to grinding. Now the car won’t accelerate over 7 mph and has significant power loss. If I try to go above that the brakes engage and slow me b...

Re: Rear end options for my V6 Caprice
you best crawl under your car and read the diff tag , its 2.92 GM did not offer any different ratios in the caprice , and there was no swapable diff sold in the US with 4.10s you could be thinking of your FIRST gear ratio I must be mistaken. I think I had gotten that ratio from the RPO but I must h...

Rear end options for my V6 Caprice
Will a rear end from a 6.0 2014 Caprice swap into a 2012 3.6 Caprice? My diff is going out and I found a full rear end (minus brakes) from a v8. Will this work? If so is there anything that I need to know?
