Re: check engine light high voltage from oil pressure switch?

I guess I will ask, but are you getting a P0521 code? If you are, I have two cars that set the code due to plugged oil filters and the cars still had a lot of life left on the oil. I guess the Mobil 1 is cleaning some carbon from the ring lands. I had a AC Delco UPF48R start causing the code after a...

Re: check engine light high voltage from oil pressure switch?

I use a 90 degree pick to lift up the locking piece and then just push in the release tab. It is easy to remove IF the release tab is not on the intake side, which does not leave much room for fingers. I have one car like that and it is no fun to remove compared to one that is on the firewall side.

Re: What are all these wires?

Lots of good wiring in the pile for the guy that tinkers on stuff. Some of the colors you won’t find at your local parts store.

Re: 2013 caprice ppv p0303

Try a running compression check to see what results you get. Pull the injector wire so you don’t heat up the cat. You can Google “running compression test” and get some informative info. I have seen a slightly bent valve cause a rough idle that would go away after the engine gets off idle.

The bulletin has an extra zero in the wobble tolerance dimension. The 4mm equivalent should be 0.157” not 0.0157” as printed.

Re: 2012 Radio in a 2013?

It should be a plug and play installation EXCEPT for the VIN. You should be able to get someone to reprogram the 2013 VIN into the 2012 radio. I would email White Automotive and Media Service to see what they charge for the service.

Re: No start....

The starter is not any fun. I pulled the cat off and that helped a bunch. I think I threatened to pull the exhaust manifold on the next one I do. Probably not a task you want to do on a car that came from the rust belt. With only 15,000 or so of these in the US, there will not be a big group of folk...

Re: Brake combination valve

Combination valves don’t fail very often. What is wrong with it? I have one, but the price is high as it comes with a complete car.

Re: Power steering fluid leak....

There are probably other GM cars or maybe other brands that may use a cooler that you could adapt to. Would be worth a trip to salvage yard to look around. My 36 year old F250 just has a piece of tubing that is looped around and bolted to the front crossmember. The truck PS probably takes more of a ...

Re: Power steering fluid leak....

They went to a separate cooler on the 12’s and up. I don’t know if there is room to add it in front of the existing cooler. The 11 is the odd ball when it comes to the radiator, condenser, cooling fans, cooling motors, AC compressor and AC hoses.
