Re: Dead Miss - Has anyone seen the PCM misidentify the problem cylinder? (2013 6.0L L77)
Thank you for the update. You may a have a broken spring on one of the locking pins. You can put a LITTLE air pressure on lifter and it will allow you to slide the lower part of the lifter off. You will see to little pins and they have light springs under them. Would be interesting to see what you f...

Re: 2011 trunk not popping open enough
You need the plastic trim piece for the trunk to open up a little bit when the latch is released. I have multiple cars and the ones with plastic work correctly and the ones without don’t move when the trunk is unlocked.

Re: Swapping v8 for v6
Don’t know about the WN platform swap, but I have done a V-8 to V-6 swap on the WM platform. I had a complete V-6 donor car to use for necessary stuff. I will list most of the items needed to make it look original under the hood. You will need a different driveshaft, differential, transmission, fuel...

Re: Why the caprice?
I bought my first one 8 years ago. It was a low mileage, county official driven that had a hydrolocked engine. It was to replace a 96 Caprice as the highway car. I am currently concerned with the long list of NLA factory parts and not a lot of support from the normal aftermarket. I would have a hard...

Re: 2013 Heater Core Replacement
I believe on one of the FaceBook groups, someone un-crimped the heater tubes at the core and was able to replace one that way. I don’t know how they re-crimped it to hold the tubes in. If I ever have to replace one, I will make some kind of collar instead of trying to re-crimp it.

Re: 2014 Caprice 9C1 - L77 AFM Lifter Refresh Kit
It seems like someone in California was using the stock LS3 cam with no tuning except for turning off the DOD and they were passing the smog testing. Might poke around some of the Caprice groups on Facebook.

Pretty sure you will find you have roller that is rough and the cam is worn/chewed up from the rough roller. The lifter that was causing problems on mine was in great shape internally. Roller was rough as a cob and the cam was grooved from the rough roller.

You will be required to do some reprogramming if you install a used one. About every module on these cars are VIN coded.

On non AFM engines, the OEM valley cover is o-ringed to seal the oil passages off. Some folks feel more comfortable just permanently plugging them. Probably no need if using a quality replacement cover. If you plug the feed to the VLOM, you loose the oil for the oil pressure switch.
