Trans brake

Has anyone heard of a working trans brake kit for the 6L80 transmission? They make them for the 4L80. I've found a few posts from a corvette and Camaro foruma with most of them still scratching their heads. There's a link to getawaycarz.com where you buy the kit and send it to them for $500 and the ...

Re: T-40 cam bolts SUPER TIGHT!!!

Those Torx bolts look like they are the TORX-Plus design. The flutes of the bit are wider and will withstand more force being applied to them. GM uses a TORX-Plus bolt on their transmission bellhousings. I went through the same hassle you did. I kept twisting/breaking my regular Torx bit sets. Maur...

Re: 2012 PPV race car for educational purposes.

I have to stand corrected and working from bad memory. It was 13's. I had some documentation that said it would run 12's. Now once this engine work is done, I'm shooting for 10's We shall see!

Re: 2012 9C3 silver detective car

The car sold Saturday to a New Caprice Forums user from Alabama. He got a good deal on a great car. Thanks all. I'm happy that it went to a good home and a user from here.

Re: T-40 cam bolts SUPER TIGHT!!!

I had a torque wrench set at 240# and twisted the last Snap On T-40. I don't know what gorilla put these bolts in, but they were tight!

Re: T-40 cam bolts SUPER TIGHT!!!

Tried with impact, then without impact using a long breaker bar. Snap On doesn't make an impact in T-40. We did catch the truck yesterday and bought the last two T40's that he had. Here's their result with slow steady pressure with a breaker bar. cam bolt 5.jpg cam bolt 4.jpg cam bolt 2.jpg cam bolt...

T-40 cam bolts SUPER TIGHT!!!

Okay guys and gals, I'm right in the middle of this engine modification, and I've now broken the tips off of 4, T-40 sockets attempting to remove the cam retaining ring. One was a Snap on, One NAPA -Carlyle, and two other cheap impact sockets. We were able to get one of the bolts out and it had well...

Re: 2012 9C3 silver detective car

Yes sir, the cow catcher is coming off. The prisoner cage is being removed also. It has been quite a conversation piece with the dummy in the back seat. But yes, the Hurricane is going on a strict diet. I'm also considering a small shot of Nitrous. race car dummy.jpg race car dummy 2.jpg The trunk l...
