I have a 3.45 rear diff from a 2011 Camaro. It has been brought to my attention that there are kits to modify the clutches in the differential and am curious if anyone else has experience or input about this subject. The 2.92 in the Caprice now (140K mikes) will at times experience the "one tir...

Re: 3.45 Differential install
I used a gearing calculator http://www.grimmjeeper.com/gears.html" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false; and ran some numbers. Stock with 235/50 18s @ 6000 RPMs with 2.92s max speed(theoretically) in each gear is 41mph in 1st, 71mph in 2nd, 109mph in 3rd, 145mph in 4th, 196mph in ...

Re: HP Tuners "trans temp"
I have not got the "clean procedure" to work- I DID get the "Fast Learn" to work, I just diddn't have the temp up high enough. Even after driving on the highway I still had to lightly brake torque it in the driveway for a few min. The most helpful description for me is a long pos...

Re: Great Lakes Dragaway
I'd like to check it out. I'm working nightshift thru the weekend and that strip is a 3 hr drive so just can't do it.
Maybe next year some of us could meet at Osceola in Indiana or ??
Enjoy your day!

Re: HP Tuners "trans temp"
BTW, how do you like the Little Lunati. I've been trying to decide on this, the BTR Stage 1, or the TSP Stage 1. I trust Phil did a good job with the tune. Still like it. The other cams you listed have longer durations but the lunati has a high lift- maybe harder on the valve train. RCR had a littl...

Re: Fitment Check before I order anything (Help)
You asked about belt tensioner problems- Mine had a pulley that sounded like it was grinding rocks. I got a "kit" from Rock Auto with a belt and tensioner. About a month later my steering suddenly felt heavy while driving on the highway, then the alternator indicator dinged on and the temp...

Re: DOD Delete Gas Mileage Test
I've been running E85 for a month or so (<$1.50/ gal at the local Shell vs just under $3.00 for premium)
Average mpg on the e85 was 13.5
Switched to Shell 93, reset the indicator and drove ~15 miles on I-94 shows 22.6
The average on 93 settled out 18-19 mixed driving
