Re: TPMS Lower Threshold

I finally did it! I was able to program my TPMS to my settings! Here is how I did it. 1. Buy a VXDIAG VCX Nano. They run a little over a hundred bucks. There are two versions. One USB only and one USB/Wifi. I bought the cheaper USB because I prefer hardwired when programming my car. The VXDiag is an...

Re: CAPRICE PPV JASPER ENGINE *UPDATE* NEW DYNO #'S

The LS3 and our L99 have pretty much the same heads. It is the same casting but different intake valves. LS3 have hollow stem intake valves vs ours being solid. I don't think that will make much of a difference hp wise unless you are getting into valve float. The LS3 having 12 more cubic inches then...

Re: Best Current Brand for Rotors

I went with the AC Delco Gold Professional 18A2652 rotors which I think are the same as the Raybestos Specialty - Street Performance Disc 580676. I would consider them OEM replacements. They work fine for my needs. For pads I use the AC Delco 17D1404CH (Daily Driver) Gold / Professional; Ceramic.

Re: SS Thefts are off the charts

There is probably an organized ring of thieves in California and Texas that have figured out you punch out the window or sunroof, climb in, program a new keyfob, push start button, and drive away. Fortunately the Caprice still uses a key which makes things harder, is pretty stripped down, and also t...

Re: Finally broke 11s with the stock converter

A few questions for you if you don't mind. What size and type of tire did you run? Any rubbing with 28" rear tire? Any wheel spin? Stock rear end? Why the LS3 MAF? From my understanding our MAF isn't really a restriction N/A. Did you find that to be the case or did you find hp in going to the L...

Re: Tunning options after DOD delete?

I am not sure you are going to be able to pass CA Smog honestly. I used Chris Henry as well. He did a fantastic job. https://www.facebook.com/CHenryMotorsports/ However when you edit the ECM to tune for the DOD delete it causes the checksum (CVN) to change in the ECM. (Any edit in the ECM will chang...

Re: IF YOU HAVE LIFTER NOISE DONT WASTE YOUR MONEY!

I wish you were my police chief! LOL. When I worked the road we always got Crown Vics from the State Bid. Now everyone runs Explorers and a few run Chargers. Now I understand. This isn't personal vehicles you wrenching on them. These are municipality units. Time is money. You need the work done ASAP...

Re: IF YOU HAVE LIFTER NOISE DONT WASTE YOUR MONEY!

It is way, way cheaper to do a top end rebuild then a LS3 crate motor. A LS3 stock crate motor from Summit Racing is $6,195. This gets you 430 hp. I spent $1,597 for my top end rebuild kit which included a better cam, better lifters, better coil springs, better pushrods, and better timing chain than...

Re: 305 rear tires or bigger?

Based on my research around 7.1"-7.25" of backspacing is the most common for rear wide tire. Running a 10"-11" wide rim. Maybe up to 7.5"-7.6" of backspacing depending on tire bulge and maybe trimming the inside plastic against the inner body/frame to prevent inside tir...

That is interesting. Thanks for sharing. If you are having trouble finding a local tuner I highly recommend Chris Henry. He did a great job tuning mine remotely with HP Tuners.
