Great thread! Thanks. I was just getting concerned about my noisey ticking Bec a friend of mine blew his Acura tl 2008 from timing belt being worn out (or maybe it was the tensioner) and he had ticking for some time before his engine went bye bye.

I would try a high zinc oil. What oil are you running?

I am not a fan of oil additives. I do like high mileage oil. I use Mobil1 high mileage in all my vehicles over 75k with a ACDelco or Wix filter.

I have heard that the 'high mileage' oil could swell gaskets and actually cause problems. How long have you been using the high mileage oil and what has your personal experience with it been?
