Oil filter part number
Oil filter part number
Ok, this is going to sound like a dumb question but I do not like taking any chances with my car. Does anyone know what the part number is for the oil filter for my 2012 caprice with a 6.0 and oil cooler? thanks!

You can type in caprice on any parts store website.

Re: Oil filter part number
I normally use a M1-113A (Mobil 1 Extended). The AC Delco is PF48E. See link for a few choices, but maybe not the best prices: https://shop.advanceautoparts.com/c3/oil-filters/15341 L77 6.0 (stock config.) holds 8qts. w/oil & filter change.
Re: Oil filter part number
The Mobil 1 filter is great, the AC Delco UPF48R is also great (Same fiter, different name).HoldOn SV wrote: ↑Sun Nov 07, 2021 5:44 pm I normally use a M1-113A (Mobil 1 Extended). I don't like using the PF48E filters as they have a plastic core that in extreme conditions can fail.

Re: Oil filter part number
I run any oil filter except Fram. My favorite is Wix or Mobil 1. When I use to be a store manager at an autoparts store I cut open every brand of filter and used it as a display. Fram was the worst in construction and quality. Sold a lot of Mobil 1 filters. Some were rebrands but this was a long time ago so information is out-of-date. Of course Corporate didn't like it because it affected their steering of sales for manufacturers. Cough cough. Had to go. I will leave it at that.

Re: Oil filter part number
Concerning the "E-core". Good info @BluesBro. It looks like par for the course with Delco. I don't trust any of their claims on redesigned parts.
Re: Oil filter part number
so the PF48E seems like the logical choice? I tried punching in the numbers at two different auto parts suppliers and they only gave me the number for a vehicle with no oil cooler.
Re: Oil filter part number
I read that one before I posted my question and all it did was give me more choices.....lolPursuit wrote: ↑Sun Nov 07, 2021 5:42 pm Check out the discussion on oil filters, found in the upper right search:
