Kind of the reason I went with the MIT. The factory air box already gets cold air from the duct through the radiator support, and it's sealed from underhood heat. Didn't think there was much to add from the Airraid air box.

Not sure I got any performance, gain, but oh, man, does it sound good when I crack the throttle blade open!! :D

I just checked out the airaid site and in their pictures they show the weatherstrip not going all the way. I wonder why it's like that.

it for the pontiac G8 , their hood line is lower , and they have a hood liner

as i mentioned earlier !!!

Yep mine is the same way, not really worried about it.

Thanks for feedback. Pretty lame on Airaid's part. Should provide extra material and let installer trim to fit. I've now installed five CAI systems on different vehicles and most came with extra weatherstrip that could be trimmed to fit.
