Thank you s/c'd cav, I have a lead on a 2014 Chevy SS complete rear end assembly with low miles, it's a 3.27 ratio, my thoughts are that since my PPV is also a 2014, and has 128k miles on it, that swapping out the entire assembly, IF it interchanged, would be practical to freshen the entire unit while gaining the gear change. So if both the SS and the PPV are of the same year, 2014, it is a one for one swap?

yes direct swap , just need to get the car tuned to correct the gear change

youll want to check the sway bar size , and keep the larger one on the car

youll need to swap over the park brake cables , the SS is electric , where ours is mechanical

VI, from what I see, this has to be a 2015 & newer crossmember/cradle assembly, due to the sway bar design - the difference is that the 2014 rear sway bar was narrower, where the sway bar in this photo mounts via links out near the end of the lower control arms.

As a 15-17, this unit also came with Brembo calipers (for 360mm rotors), so it looks like those calipers have been removed and offered for sale separately--the 2014 PPV/SS rear brakes (PBR 324mm) won't just swap due to the 15-17 sway bar links & interference with the 2014 floating caliper design.

Nice find & clean - what's something like that selling for?

think his picture came from the parts farm , they are 600ish

bill , i think my 14 cradle has both sway bar mount designs from what i can tell

What you mean is the crossmember & lower control arms allow both 14 & 15-17 sway bars to mount, yes I do agree. Possibly even 14-17 PPV have these same provisions.

Thank you for your reply to my post. Upon contacting the seller, and getting the VIN#, you are correct, it is listed as a 2014 unit, but is from a 2016 SS. If you would please, confirm whether this unit will be able to work in my 2014 PPV regards the brakes clearance you outlined and difference in parking brakes, cable vs. electric.

Just to clarify - the pictured rear assembly was pulled from a 2014 SS, but was originally mounted in a 2016 SS - is that correct?

Brembo rear brakes from the SS (360mm rotor) sedan clear the PPV steel wheel - confirmed myself when I had a puncture of the RR position while traveling and installed the 18" OEM spare.

I am unable to tell you about what the differences may be in regards to the park brake actuation system or what may or may not allow the electric park brake setup's removal and installation of the manual components.

I'm sure someone here does know whether it's simple or complicated by some specific/unique design feature that might prevent it--I have never heard or seen it stated clearly that the crossmember MUST be compatible - in other words, that VF(SS) will fit VE(G8) and both WM & WN, or fits WN(14-17 PPV) only.

To clarify, it is/was listed as fitting a 2014 Chevy SS, but when I contacted the seller, and got the VIN# it came from, and ran it, it came back as a 2016, which the seller later confirmed, a typo on the listing, not 2014, a 2016.
So the question, remains, whether this unit can be made to accept cabled parking brakes?

As you said, it was plug and play, my 2014 Caprice PPV with a 2014 Chevy SS. Just removing the SS E-Brake system ( the wiring harness, control module, and cables to the E-Brake hook tabs ) and swapping the Caprice cables on to the hook tabs, and swapping he ABS sensors. The Caprice rotors, Caliper brackets and Calipers all bolted on the SS assembly. Would a Camaro set up with more gear have been more of a noticeable change? Sure, the SS unit had 17k miles on it, and for what I paid am very happy with the results, acceleration has improved, the SS sway bar is larger, and with such low mileage parts compared to what was in my 129k mile car, the difference is also noticeably improved. Again, than you for your reply to my post(s).
