Replaced front and back brake parts with new rotors and brakes from Powerstop. the whole kit was $300. I also ditched that crappy ass backing plate to keep the brakes cool. I dont drive the Caprice in bad weather, on purpose, so it wont hurt anything really.

Nice! I also used power stop on all four, rotors/pads. Very happy with brake feel. I think I paid $347 delivered fro everything. I did not used drilled/slotted rotors BTW.

BUMP!

What's the opinion on the Powerstop brakes? I've put a ton on in a fleet application and never really saw an issue with them.

I was thinking that this looked like a good set up to replace all my brake components and maybe it'll be a little upgrade while I'm at it.

I just bought the Z26 street warrior kit for G8 GT front as recommended by g8only.com. The brakes do not fit my car at all pads are completely wrong and rotors are hitting the caliper bracket bolts

Here is a further point to ponder....brake "upgrades" should not reduce rotor mass. Drilling & slotting of rotors does exactly that.

I'm not faulting anyone for choosing to use PowerStop or any other brand of rotor. Even my own PPV has DBA slotted rotors, however they are larger in diameter & thicker than stock PPV rotors (Brembo conversion).

My issue is with the use of the term "upgrade" - the stock system, with fresh rotors, pads, and proper prep/installation, is pretty darn capable. No "upgrade" really necessary unless the owner is after a certain appearance.

So I have a brand new Z26 warrior kit for sale... in case they don't let me return it to G8store.
