Speedometer reading slower than actual speed?

Post by Yuckydog »

I just picked up another Caprice and driving home I noticed that my GPS showed me going 74 when my cruise control was set at 70. The discrepancy was less the slower the speed (i.e. cruise control set at 55 but GPS showed me at 57)

The tires currently on the car are 235/50R18s.

Is it a speed sensor issue?

What brand of tire? The tire may be a little shorter that the GOODYEAR RSA’s. I doubt you would have speed sensor that is wacky. I could see sensor that would give an intermittent reading, but not out of calibration.
