just bought a 2013 9c1 at auction

Post by mburrus »

hello everyone, first post...

i bought a 2013 9c1 that belonged to ft. lauderdale PD at auction a few weeks back. bought from royal auction group in ft. myers fl... its a pretty standard 9c1, and i intend to keep it mostly standard, unless i have to replace the cam... if i do, then i may wake it up a little.

the car is in OK shape... i have a miss at idle, especially when idling cold... id like to get some help with this, as ive seen a few threads in the L77 section with identical problems, but with no resolution posted. ive already replaced injectors, plugs and wires.

id also love to figure out how to read the oil pressure... its not in the engineering menu or in my zr13 (harbor freight scanner) live data

im considering buying an mdi and subscription to help with this issue, as well as do my own radio, and bcm flashes, and possibly do a hp tuners tune. but thats time/budget/need dependent.

pretty much your standard "hey im new here" post... lol

Welcome to the group! We have a good group of people and a lot of information here. With some TLC and some elbow grease these cars make great can be made into pretty much any use you may need.

Welcome! Yeah, great bunch of people here. I would have been lost with it.

Post a picture when you can. Love to see it.

Welcome mburrus!
I found that if you have an android phone you can download the "torque pro" app ($5) and use it with one a bluetooth ODB2 scanner and you will be able to see oil pressure. Unfortunately I haven't found an app that has it on Iphone yet.

i just figured this out tonight. and i posted a reply in the L77 engine tech section.

i used an elm327 and an iphone app called car scanner. you have to select obd2 and can bus, as the oil pressure data rides on the can bus only, not the obd2 bus. the app is free!
